The standard repertoire for orchestral music, defined and quantified

I've been interested for a long time in how the standard repertoires are established and change — or don't change — and when the New York Philharmonic released data on its performance history, it gave me a chance to slice and dice it in a few ways I thought might reveal interesting facts.
